Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Life on SC-390 in Santa Catarina

A serious traffic accident on the SC-390 highway, in the municipality of Ipira, Santa Catarina, resulted in a fatality on the afternoon of Saturday, the 7th.

According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), a 31-year-old motorcyclist was riding a BMW S1000 RR when he was involved in a head-on collision with a Renault Sandero, driven by a 30-year-old woman. The crash occurred on a curve, when the motorcycle reportedly crossed into the opposite lane.

Emergency services arrived quickly and provided immediate assistance. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, but despite the efforts of medical teams, he did not survive his injuries.

The driver of the car tested negative for alcohol. She told authorities that her vehicle was removed from the scene by family members before investigators arrived.

The motorcycle, a high-performance model valued between R$70,000 and R$150,000, sustained severe damage and was taken to the police impound lot.

Local residents expressed sadness over the incident, which serves as a reminder of the dangers of high-speed travel and the importance of caution on winding roads. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
